CHIPS (Child Intervention, Prevention, and Services) is a dynamic interdisciplinary training consortium, created to enhance career development for early career scientists pursuing research careers in the areas of intervention, prevention, and the provision of services for children and adolescents. CHIPS is funded through the NIMH Division of Services and Intervention Research (DSIR), which supports two critical areas of research: - Intervention research to evaluate the effectiveness of preventive and treatment interventions
- Mental health services research

Each summer, the CHIPS Summer Research Institute is hosted at one of 6 sites: Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; Los Angeles, California; Baltimore, Maryland; San Diego, California; Tempe, Arizona; or Eugene, Oregon. CHIPS fellows forge mentoring relationships with the CHIPS faculty, who help their fellows develop and meet their career objectives and embark upon a large-scale research project. Each fellow receives a travel award to visit their CHIPS mentor and to attend one national academic conference during their fellowship year. |
